CHAPTER SIXTEEN

The Briars and the Thorns - A True Story of the Kelly Gang is an unpublished 
manuscript written in 1922 by Joseph Ashmead. .
 

Ashmead claimed he knew the Kellys in his youth. .

His original manuscript (see below) is available at the State Library of Victoria as well 
as an edited version by a lady (Louise Earp) in the 1930s.
