He was born in in Ireland in 1813 and died in 1880 a few days after Ned was executed. He locked up Mrs. Kelly for three years and sentenced Ned Kelly to death. Barry was a graduate of Trinity College, Dublin, he arrived in Port Phillip
as a barrister Redmond Barry was the founder of several Victorian institutions including The State
Like many in the Kelly story on the 'other' side, Barry was a member of The Melbourne Club.
