CRAGIEBURN

Craigieburn is a town I know well, it is just up the road for me and is of relevance to the Kelly story.
The Police Special whilst heading full steam ahead for Beechworth to apprehend the Kelly gang for killing
alleged spy Aaron Sherritt, crashed through the gates here in 1880 disabling the brakes and more.

Had this little mishap not occurred then Thomas Curnow would not have been at the tracks to warn the
police and the train would have continued on into history and over the ravine.

Everyone on board the train, including the reporters and ladies would most likely have perished.
