Glenrowan is a tourist town, today almost all of the businesses are geared toward that fact. 
This is not new, people have been coming here ever since the siege in 1880. What is interesting 
is the fact that it was only a few years back that the idea of setting up a business to trade on the 
Kelly saga would have had you run out of town quick smart!

        In the 1970's I visited Glenrowan as a child and was fascinated with the souvenirs 
and original items on display. I recall wandering through the shop ( I think there was just 
one) you see pictured above. It was full of goodies and amongst the displays I clearly 
recall seeing the pistol that would later be stolen.

        Some of the items sold back in the 1970's & '80's turn up on Ebay today. Ned aftershave 
and anything with Ned's name attached was (and still is) for sale. There may have been fewer 
shops, however they were just as keen to sell Ned as they are today.

A statue of Ned (pictured) used to be attacked and was in fact removed (stolen) 
several times. 

        The animated theatre used to have many of its attractions on the outside 
of the building, that was until the owner decided to put the fibreglass figures 
out the back to stop people taking photos without paying a fee.
